Big Show Life/Bio:
Paul Donald Wight II, aka Big Show, was born on February 8th, 1972, in Aiken, South Carolina, and was soon diagnosed with acromegaly. By the age of 12, he stood 6 ft 2 in (1.88m) tall, which was similar to the growth abnormalities of wrestling legend Andre the Giant.
When he was 19, he played basketball for Wichita State University and football. When he graduated high school, Wight worked two lines of work that suited his immense size, bounty hunting and being a bouncer.
He married Melissa Ann Piavis in 1997, separated in 2000, and divorced two years later. In 2014, he participated in the Opening Ceremony for the Special Olympics USA Games in New Jersey, which he supported over the years. He married his second wife, Bess Katramados, in 2002.
Big Show Career:
The WCW signed Wight after Hogan recommended him after he met him while at work. In 1995, Wight debuted under the ring name The Giant following a meeting with Ric Flair.
In 1999, he made his WWF debut against Steve Austin, and soon after became Vince McMahon’s enforcer.
Today, he continues to make occasional appearances for WWF and WWE Raw. Aside from wrestling, Big Show appeared in the Adam Sandler comedy The Waterboy as a small role. In 2010, he also starred in Knucklehead, a comedy starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.
